Individual counselling is best described as one-on-one quality time spent with a trained clinician who works in collaboration with a client to find effective coping strategies and tools to manage any negative thoughts, feelings and emotions. Individual counselling at The Budding Elm is provided to adults, youth and families without judgment or criticism.

Families can be a strong source of support for youth and teens. However, unforeseen circumstances can leave the family feeling overburdened and stressed. If parents are seeing their youth struggle or if they themselves are struggling, Parent Support can be a resource where parents and caregivers are provided with tools and strategies for resolution and management.
-
Relationship-centred counselling at The Budding Elm is offered for individuals of various backgrounds seeking strengths-based support in order to rebuild mutual trust, intimacy, and communication within their partnership. Clients will be invited to meet regularly with a trained Relationship Therapist in order to work through any challenges, problems and barriers that interrupt their ability to create and maintain meaningful connection with one another.

At The Budding Elm, we value the diversity, strengths and goals that every student brings to their education. Whether your child is struggling to keep up or needs a greater challenge, a Learning Strategist can provide the benefit of personalized instruction to facilitate learning goals.
Any time is a good time for learners to take proactive steps on their academic journey. New learning experiences can bring increased motivation for both struggling and accelerated learners. Remedial sessions help students fill in the gaps in their knowledge and expand their abilities. Enrichment can be provided in a number of different ways to allow advanced learners the opportunity to work at or above grade level.
Research shows that differentiated lessons enhance learning outcomes for students. Sessions are designed to provide multiple opportunities to acquire and apply new skills and strategies.

Get started with The Budding Elm
“I actually love coming to The Budding Elm for counselling. Dr. Elmhurst made the space a funky place to chill and talk about all of the stuff I’m going through – mostly with my friends or at school. I always feel like I can bring up anything during session. We have also had a few good laughs to help me get through some pretty hard moments during our time together.”
