About Individual Counselling
One-on-one counselling includes client-centered support for individuals across all stages of life & development. Following an initial phone consultation, The Budding Elm Clinical Director will connect you with a clinician that best fits individual needs & preferred therapeutic approach. We encourage clients to view all counsellor bios which can be found under the “Our Team” page. Each bio highlights therapist areas of practice and speciality.
Types of Individual Counselling:
Child
Youth may experience stress or difficult transitions at school, home or within their peer group. Child Therapy at The Budding Elm provides youth with a safe and nurturing space where they are able to utilize art and play in order to develop the skills needed to build their self-confidence, ability to cope, and personal resilience. Our child-friendly and family-centered approach offers youth as well as their families the opportunity to strengthen their connection, engagement, and relationship. Child therapy begins with an initial assessment which will be followed by the provision of a targeted therapeutic plan that involves clinical tools, resources and a clinical approach best suited to the child and their family.

Navigating life as a teen in today’s world has become increasingly challenging. Whether it is physiological, emotional, or social change, it can prove difficult for teens to develop the skills and resources required to manage their social world. Peer pressure, social media, academic/school demans and relational needs can leave teens feeling overwhelmed with how to effectively manage their life. Our team provides clinical expertise that supports teens and their families to understand their concerns while strengthening their ability to cope. Whether it is goal setting, skill development, or confidence building, The Budding Elm team jointly recognizes that a little support goes a long way.
